San Diego Studio and MLB® The Show™ add the G.O.A.T.s of baseball history in this year’s roster totaling 200+ legends* in MLB The Show 25.
Hall of Famer Ted Williams highlights a class of unrivaled ballplayers alongside Roger Clemens and Manny Ramirez, and introduces Negro Leagues legends James “Cool Papa” Bell and Wilber “Bullet Joe” Rogan. Fans can play with the iconic legends in this year’s game, along with returning legends Ken Griffey Jr., Derek Jeter, Babe Ruth, Jackie Robinson and Satchel Paige.
“Ted Williams instantly makes this MLB The Show 25 roster the greatest one we have ever assembled,” said Stephen Hass, Sr. Manager, Live Design on MLB The Show. “He joins more than 200 legends to create a Mount Rushmore of baseball royalty, alongside barrier breakers and record holders. It’s been a few years since Ted graced the game with his presence, and his value in baseball history is only matched by his character as a person. We can’t wait for this generation of fans to learn about him, and swing for the red seat once again.”
Largely considered one of the greatest ballplayers of all time, Ted Williams, embodies the pinnacle of baseball excellence.
“Ted Williams’ legacy continues to captivate baseball fans across generations as one of the most revered players in the game’s history,” said Eric Abel, Longtime Family Spokesperson/Representative, and President of Ted Williams Family Enterprises, Ltd. “As the steward of his brand, I am committed to finding the best opportunities to share his story and introduce him to new audiences. MLB The Show 25 is a perfect partnership to honor Ted’s legacy and batting prowess. While most of today’s fans never had the chance to see him play in person, MLB The Show 25 allows gamers of all ages to experience the brilliance of the ‘Splendid Splinter’ and appreciate his lasting impact on baseball.”
Ted Williams played his entire 19-year MLB career with the Boston Red Sox from 1939 to 1960. In that time, Williams garnered an astonishing list of achievements:
Williams was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1966.
“Ted Williams Family Enterprises takes great pride in finding meaningful partnerships that celebrate Ted Williams and bring his influence to new platforms. His legacy remains as relevant today as ever and we are thrilled to embark on this partnership with Sony Interactive Entertainment,” said Abel.
