June Spotlight Lightning – Pete Crow-Armstrong

Spotlight Lightning Pete Crow-Armstrong, CF CHC (98 OVR) led the MLB with a .781 SLG, a 236 wRC+, and a fWAR of 3.1 in the month of June.

With numbers like that, is it any surprise to learn that this June saw Crow-Armstrong hit for his first career cycle, an incredibly rare reverse natural cycle, and hit 11 home runs, the most in a calendar year for a Cub since 2019.

This performance propelled him to become just 1 of 3 Cubs players to hit more than 10 home runs in a month at the age of 24 or younger, joining the likes of Ernie Banks and Kris Bryant, all of which helped Pete to earn the National League Player of the Month spot.

Anyone that remembers big MLB performances from June 2021 would be hard pressed not to mention this as Cedric Mullins, CF, BAL (98 OVR) breakout month.

Mullins was in the Top 5 for Stolen Bases with 7 for the month, held a 212 wRC+, and a WAR of 2.2.

Mullins’ performance on June 5^th, 2021, saw him go a perfect 5-for-5 at the plate, including 2 home runs, making him just the third Baltimore Orioles player in franchise history to hit 2 home runs in a 5-for-5 or better game.
