Clemente was a 2-time World Series Champion, and the first player from the Caribbean/Latin America to win the World Series MVP Award in 1971. A 15-time All-Star, Roberto was the National League (NL) MVP in 1966, the NL batting leader in 1961, 1964, 1965, and 1967, and a recipient of the Golden Glove Award for 12 consecutive years from 1961 to 1972. Maintaining a .300+ batting average over 13 seasons, Clemente had 3,000 hits during his time in the Major Leagues.
